Standard Vet Rule: 1 mg per 1 lb of body weight (approx. 2–4 mg per 1 kg), given every 8 to 12 hours (up to 3 times daily).
Plain Diphenhydramine ONLY: Check active ingredients! Never use Benadryl products containing Acetaminophen, Pseudoephedrine, Phenylephrine, or Decongestants (Lethal to dogs).
Check for Xylitol / Birch Sugar: Avoid liquid medications containing artificial sweeteners like Xylitol, which cause rapid liver failure in canines.
